Professional Responsibility in the Time of a Pandemic (1 hour Ethics/Technology Credit)  -10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

An Overview of the North Carolina Estate Administration Process (1.5 hour General Credit) - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

This training will cover an overview of the estate administration process, including exceptions to formal administration, the personal representative’s role, handling assets and creditors’ claims, and closing the estate.  We will also address practical considerations for the estate planning practitioner, including selection of personal representative, probate versus non-probate assets, drafting pointers, and potential pitfalls. The training will be ideal for volunteer attorneys involved in Legal Aid’s Lawyer on the Line program and estate administration attorneys in private practice.
