Program Overview:

In the wake of Hurricane Dorian, many North Carolinians are without power, permanent shelter and other necessities. In the coming weeks there will be a significant need for attorneys to help hurricane survivors get back on their feet and this CLE is an opportunity to get involved and learn about providing effective assistance.  We will go over a range of topics, including government benefits, how to apply and the appeals process, insurance claims, common health concerns and landlord/tenant issues for hurricane survivors.  We will also cover FEMA & SBA applications, the appeals process and best practices/strategies.  We will then touch briefly on the National Flood Insurance Program before wrapping up with a 15 minute Q&A with our expert panelists.
