About
Erin is a native of Chapel Hill. She graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in May 1997 and began her practice at East Central Community Legal Services in September of that year. After four years with East Central Community Legal Services in Smithfield, Erin opened her own practice in her home county, in Carrboro. For over 10 years, Erin focused her practice on family law, guardian ad litem attorney work in DSS Court, alternative dispute resolution, child advocacy, and civil GAL and parent coordinator appointments. Erin joined Legal Aid of North Carolina in August 2014 as a staff attorney with The Child’s Advocate representing children’s interests in high-conflict custody cases. Erin moved to Pittsboro in 2017 to manage the Legal Aid NC field office there, which serves seven counties: Alamance, Orange, Chatham, Lee, Moore, Richmond and Anson. In January 2022 Erin became the Director of Pro Bono Programs for Legal Aid of North Carolina and is currently in this role full time, facilitating opportunities for the private bar to engage in meaningful pro bono service. Erin lives in rural Orange/Alamance counties (a few miles from Saxapahaw) with her family and her rescue dog, Eowyn.
