About
Brian P. Hogan is the firm’s Practice Group Manager for Public Benefits. He is committed to advocating for low-income and disabled individuals navigating the complexities of public benefits and health law.
Brian provides strategic guidance and support to attorneys and advocates representing individuals facing food insecurity, healthcare access barriers, and economic instability. His responsibilities include program development, training and mentoring staff, offering technical assistance on complex advocacy and policy issues, and collaborating with stakeholders. In this role, he helped create Legal Aid of North Carolina’s statewide Medicaid advocacy project, the Medicaid Assistance Technical Team, and has directly supervised our public benefits casework in the Triad Region (Greensboro-High Point-Winston Salem), including our Medical-Legal Partnership casework in Greensboro.
He received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is licensed to practice in both North Carolina and California. He is certified as a specialist in Social Security Disability Law by the North Carolina State Bar. Brian currently serves on the North Carolina State Bar’s Board of Legal Specialization Specialty Committee for Social Security Disability Law, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Disability Advocacy Section’s Executive Committee, and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) Legal Services Committee.
