Elysia Prendergast-Jones

About

Elysia works as the managing attorney for the Raleigh Office of Legal Aid of North Carolina. Within that role, she leads a staff that handles cases ranging in landlord/tenant disputes, disability, consumer complaints, family law and domestic violence along with varying other cases.

Elysia has an undergraduate degree in English and psychology. She then went to graduate school where she earned a master’s in counseling psychology and an M.B.A. She then graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law. She started as an intern in the Raleigh office and worked her way up to managing the same office. After spending years in private practice, she spent a significant amount of time volunteering for Legal Aid and believes that all attorneys should spend time volunteering.

Elysia enjoys cooking, doing crafts, caring for both her plants and dogs, along with spending time with her husband and daughter.
