On May 3, 2016, Janet Ward Black and Ward Black Law, in partnership with First Citizens Bank and Legal Aid of North Carolina, held the top 50 North Carolina Women Super Lawyers event in Greensboro, to honor North Carolina’s top women attorneys and to raise support for Legal Aid of NC. At this year’s event, to show the important work that Legal Aid does, a former client, Adele Palmer, spoke about how Valene Franco, managing attorney of our Winston-Salem office, helped her and her son escape from domestic violence and start a new life.
