Melanie Tarrant

About

Melanie Tarrant Bull is the Managing Attorney of the Gastonia Office of Legal Aid. A Tar Heel born and a Tar Heel bred, Melanie began her higher education at her beloved UNC-Chapel Hill. After receiving a B.A. in International Studies and French, Melanie moved to NYC to receive her law degree from the Columbia University School of Law. Despite enjoying her time in the Big Apple, Melanie could not stay away from her home state for long. She returned to North Carolina after law school to begin her career of public service with Legal Aid of NC.

Since 2006, Melanie has worked for her Legal Aid clients in a variety of practices areas. She has helped secured domestic violence protective orders, prevented unlawful evictions, stopped foreclosures, recovered money judgments for consumers, drafted wills and advance directives, and helped clients obtain government benefits. Melanie loves working at Legal Aid because she is surrounded by like-minded colleagues who are all passionate about making their community a better place.

In addition to managing the Gastonia office, Melanie enjoys spending time in nature, doing crafts with her kids, and perfecting her French baguette recipe.
